the rains forced the track preparation people to do a little rerouting of the Irwindale soil this evening for the CMC battle. The rains made the usual path in front of the grandstands a little too gushy two moto on, so they just turned it into a straight. Two bad the rains and weather can't cause form of erosion that would be helpful. Let's C., now if it could only for a few high peaking jumps, well, I guess that would be too much to ask for. Ty Ritchey had a very good week of CMC racing as he did well at CMC Ascot racing, with a second overall in the 500 Int. class and in this evening's class because he took home the top trophy. Maybe even some money soon. This guy has been racing smaller bore Yamaha mono for JBS.
His night, though, ended up successful. Even with a bad start in the first moto. when the group of seven hot riders lit off the gate and flew wide open down the starting straight and into the first corner, a disaster occurred. Ty Ritchey Landed on his ear when he went wayside of the corner, and was cut off by another rider. This really put him at a disadvantage and caused him to take last with Ed Miller (Maico) taking the honors.in the second Moto, things were relatively simple for Ty as he and his machine equalled a winning combination, which took the first place victory while Dave Tanis was the second man to pass the score girls and this time, Ed Miller had an almost end of the pack fifth.
in the third and final moto of a long night of racing, Ty made way to the front of the group again and he flew in to the finish area ahead of Paul Sedler and Dave Tanis.overall for the night, with a 6-1-1 total, Ritchey made his way for his first 500 Int. win on his new Yamaha mono while Tanis hooked the second over Dave Servais, Paul Sedler, Ed Miller, and Randy Kellogg.
