Eddie Cole Continues Win Streak

Dave Haugh's dad stopped by to let me know about Kevin Kratz, a 250 Int. who had been out of racing for some time and Friday night was his first time back. He had a bad spill in his first Moto and was out of the race with a shoulder injury. Mr Haugh That was concerned about Kevin, who works for him at Safeway. he said to me that although he enjoyed reading about Dave and his races, he wanted people to know about Kevin and all the others like him, that put in an honest day's work, ride the best race they can and then take the bad breaks that, they're way. I, for one, am grateful to Mr. Haugh and others like him, for caring about someone besides their own kid. It's rare that I hear things like this and I'd appreciate any new as I can get about our riders.
The Pros had a full and fast night of racing. Eddie Cole is it really hot these days! He took down a second in the 125 Pro and top money for the 250 Pros. In the 125 class he had some stiff competition from Kline and Jannings. in the 250's, Cole had his work cut out for him in a battle with Haugh that lasted all night. He really makes those Yamaha's of his fly!
the 500 Pro race was a fierce battle between Donnie Hansen, Monte McCoy and Will Harper. Haper, who was making a super comeback after being out for awhile, grabbed the holeshot both times out and gave Hansen and McCoy some stiff competition. Monte McCoy Took the overall win with Hansen literally breathing down his jersey.
Friday night saw an onslaught of 125 juniors. so many, that it was necessary to have three divisions of these future pros. From the way they are going it won't be long before they are pros!
Brian Alexander took down the first overall for the first division after some stiff competition from Brian Gardner and Rich Thomas.
The second division was taken over by Mark Brouillette. Mark and Dana Berg were dicing it out all night in a light for first overall. They had Steve Vincze coming between them in the first moto, keeping heavy pressure on Mark for first. First overall for the evening went to Brouillette, Berg taking down second and third going to Vincze.
Division 3 of the 125 juniors saw an A.M.E. regular, Chris Bercaw, racking up back-to-back wins against some formidable competition in the first Moto, Burt, had Doug McNeely and Scott Berg to worry about. The second time around, Bercaw again took the lead and again found McNeely on his tail, challenging him for a first overall. Mike Kincaid was keeping up the heat on McNeelyand didn't let up until the checkered flag to half, giving Bercaw, the overall win. McNeely picked up two seconds for himself, for a round second overall, and third went to Kincaid.
